Frequently Asked Questions
Below are questions parents frequently ask. Can't find an answer? Email [email protected].
How do I register an account?
Click "Sign up," fill in your email, password, and basic info, tick to agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and submit. We will send a confirmation email — click the link inside to start listing, offering, and messaging. Accounts registered with Google are confirmed automatically.
What if I forgot my password?
On the login page, click "Forgot password," enter your email, and we'll send you a reset link.
How do I change my email or password?
After signing in, go to "My Account" to edit. For Google OAuth users, your email is managed by Google and must be changed there.
Does SKLOOPS charge any fees?
Core features (browsing, searching, listing, offers, instant messaging, reviews) are currently free, with no fees or commissions. If optional paid features are introduced later, charges will be clearly stated and you can freely choose whether to use them.
How do I make an offer or contact a seller?
On the listing page, click "Contact seller" to start a chat; click "Offer" to open the chat with the offer sheet. The seller can accept or reject the offer right in the chat, and once accepted you can arrange pickup details. Please keep all communication on the platform.
How do I stay safe during meetups?
We recommend meeting in busy public places (MTR stations, shopping malls, near police stations). For delivery, use SF Express cash-on-delivery so the buyer pays on receipt. Avoid paying strangers in advance.
What payment methods can I use?
Common in HK: cash on meetup, FPS (Faster Payment System), PayMe, AlipayHK. SKLOOPS does not handle money; parties arrange themselves.
What if I encounter fraud or a transaction dispute?
SKLOOPS only provides a matching platform — we do not participate in the actual transaction or handle money, and the risks and losses of transactions are borne by the parties themselves. For disputes, try to resolve them with the other party first; if you suspect fraud, keep the evidence and contact the HK Police Anti-Deception Coordination Centre at 18222. You can also report the listing or the user, and we will review and act on violations.
How do I report a suspicious listing or user?
On the listing page, click "Report," or report the user from the chat, select a reason (prohibited item, fraud, infringement, etc.) and optionally add details. We will review and handle it. If you suspect fraud, also contact the HK Police Anti-Deception Coordination Centre at 18222.
Why should I pick preferred schools?
SKLOOPS prioritizes items listed by parents from your preferred schools, making in-school pickup and trust easier. You can select multiple schools in your account settings.
How do preferred schools affect search ranking?
Items from your preferred schools' parents appear first in search results. Items from other schools still show, just ranked lower.
Where does the school data come from?
The school list comes from the Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB) official release, updated monthly.
When can I review someone?
After the seller confirms the handover on the deal, both parties can leave a 1-to-5 star review for the other. Free items skip the offer — claiming the item creates a deal that goes through the same handover confirmation before reviews unlock.
Why does a user have no reviews?
New users or those who haven't completed a transaction will have no reviews. Reviews are voluntary, not mandatory.
How many photos can I upload per listing?
Up to 6 photos per listing. We recommend uploading clear, well-lit, multi-angle photos to help items sell faster.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, and WEBP are supported. Photos are automatically compressed and thumbnail-cropped. Please upload genuine photos of the item, not stock images.
How do I list a free item?
Set the price to 0 when listing. The system will show "FREE." Free items can still have pickup arrangements.
What pickup methods are available?
Supported: face-to-face meetup, SF Express cash-on-delivery (SF COD), courier, seller delivery, and other. Pick the most convenient one when listing.
What gets an account banned?
Repeated violations of terms, listing prohibited items, fraud, harassment, or other serious misconduct may result in SKLOOPS suspending or permanently banning the account.
How do I delete my own listing?
From "My Account" or the listing page, you can delete your own listing. Sold items are marked as "Sold."
How do I permanently delete my account and data?
Email [email protected] to request account deletion. We will permanently remove your personal data within 90 days. See the Privacy Policy for details.
For the full terms governing the service, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, see the Terms and Privacy.
